ORIGINAL: TJSweens Pitcher A: Career ERA 3.45, IP 4,530, 180 complete games, 16 Gold Gloves Pitcher B: Career ERA 3.68, IP 3,562, 57 complete games, 7 Gold Gloves Which one is more deserving of the Hall of Fame? Is Jim Kaat pitcher A? I assume pitcher B is Mussina. You are correct sir! I can only imagine how far the baseball writers will have to continue to lower the bar to admit more current generations of pitchers. It's like I said, the HOF is no longer for players who were truly elite. Just pretty good for a fair number of years. Selections like Mussina just water down the HOF. Yeah, let's compare number-by-number a pitcher from the dead ball era to a pitcher that pitched his entire career in the AL East during the height of the steroid era. Very poor comparison. It shows me nothing. That's because you're ignorant. The "dead ball era" was 1900 to 1919. I was exaggerating to make a point.
