Watching Stefanski's Browns dominate Tennessee on the road brings me back to the Childress/Tomlin situation. Vikings let a young coach go to another team while hanging on to an old, Set-In-His-Ways coach.

Stefanski runs a play at the goal line using an eligible O-Lineman for a TD. Zimmer would never run anything like that.

I guess since we've got the best red zone offense in the league, "Zimmer", calling the plays in the coach's box up in the stands, doesn't feel the need to resort to trickery.

We have played some pretty poor teams but the defense is missing its two starting CBs, two Pro Bowl LBs and its 2 best DLineman(one of which is an All Pro).

And we are in the Playoffs if they started today.

And I think we have went for the jugular(offensively) quite a few times this year. Has it worked out all the time? No.

Frankly I'm getting a little bugged by us frequently throwing it up up 40 yards downfield on 3rd and 5, but long term it makes us more unpredictable.

Jefferson OROY?

Probably Justin Herbert. QB's tend to win in general and Herbert is on pace to break a lot of rookie QB records.

Well, the multi-millionaire QB was subpar and we had the milk carton pass rush, but it was a win. Watching that game was like trying to push a turd uphill.

We could not generate any pass rush with our front four. Zim started blitzing a lot more in the 2nd half and that really helped. Glennon folded under pressure.

Cousins needs to get the ball out of his hand quicker or just throw it away. Jax came in with 11 sacks in 12 games and sacked Cousins 4 times.

Few random thoughts on a rewatch:

• Dozier & O'Neill really struggled
• Cousins had at least three really nice sideline tosses that I thought Jefferson/Thielen could've reeled in
• Secondary all played well, particularly Gladney and Dantzler. Really encouraging

You didn't mention Kendricks being FIRST team All-Pro. Hunter/Griffin, in which you imply were, haven't achieved that.

True, but that was not the point of the original post. How convenient of you to cut out the rest so you could start your snarky shit again.

It seemed appropriate to point out your stupid shit again. But in more comedic than snarky way.

Don't sell yourself short Judge, it was quite snarky.

Yeah, but Herbert is in exclusive company with Patrick Mahomes' rookie numbers. Like JJ, he didn't play the first two games. Jefferson is very worthy of consideration. He is, hands down, the steal of the draft. It's just hard to beat a rookie QB having a great season for the OROY.

I was talking about Hunter and Pierce.

Wasn't Hunter 2nd team All Pro one year?

Herbert is having a very good rookie year. but they aren't winning which hopefully factor's into it. But you're right QB's are treated differently in these awards.

I didn't say Pierce was All Pro. Just said he would be one of our 2 top DLinemen.

I was just giving a quick skim over the Vikings' PFF ratings from yesterday. It's going to be one of those games where even though Brian O'Neil, Dalvin Cook, and C.J. Ham had good overall grades their individual grades for pass blocking are terrible. They did such a good job on everything else that their overall ratings will appear very good.

Reiff and Ezra Cleveland played lights out.

True but Herbert just got shut out by the chess master. Claypool was in the running for a while but his numbers are dwarfed by JJ.

Had he started the full season he could be looking at a 100 Rec, 1,500 yds and 10 TD season.

Much respect to Herbert too, he's been fantastic and looks to tbe the best QB from his class, even without Burrow's injury. Herbert throws it all over the field with poise. Burrow and Tua look like glorified game managers.

Thought so too. I think the defender got their hand in on JJ when Kirk threw one up against the blitz. Thought Thielen had his but he couldn't squeeze it. Thielen really helped get the team on track with a couple of first downs when the O had done nothing up to that point.

Give the Jags credit they play hard every week. Since their bye they've lost 4 games by an average of 3 pts and their loss to the Steelers was a much closer game than the final score. They were going into the tie the game before half and Luton threw a pick which the Steelers turned into a 14 pt lead.

Had the Jets won would the Jags be the front runner for Lawrence?

Overall a dismal 30.6 which was dead last for all Vikings offensive players that saw the field. 21.1 pass blocking grade and 43.0 run blocking grade.

Imagine Elf or Samia still on the right side. Yikes.

Literally everyone that follows the Vikes at all and some people that don't even know much about the team at all: Upgrade those guards!

Spielman: Is that Yannick Ngakoue fella available?

Tomlin went on to win a Super Bowl. Stefanski? With the loveable losers in Cleveland? Before the Vikings?

That would really blow...

Maybe so. The Browns have had a nice schedule so far and have been moderately impressive.

The lads are #1 in red zone efficiency, it doesn't matter how it's done they're finding the end zone.

Must say I was quite upset when they didn't call Cook's play a TD and then the eventual false start. Had the over at 51.5, that play definitely cost me a big pay day.

Denny Green had two assistants who won Super Bowls as head coaches- Tony Dungy and Brian Billick. You might have a really good point about Stefanski. I will be rooting for the Browns. I have some friends from Cleveland and I can relate to their fans who are kind of like Vikings fans in many respects.
