Gladney gave up only two passes for 16 yards vs. Lamb last year. (one was a TD)

The two TDs for Mims were in the OT set up. He gave up virtually nothing for the whole regular game. I don't know if that makes him less clutch giving them up in OT where teams are given the ball in scoring situations.

So he gave up three pass receptions and zero TD's in regulation. Overall the passes averaged about 11 yards. It would be interesting to know how many targets.

The Vikings and Anthony Harris have three days to get an extension deal signed. I believe it will happen. It's mutually beneficial. These deals often happen right up against a deadline.

More on Gladney. It seems that while he may be lacking in height and the cone drill, that is offset with his leaping ability, strength, speed and has long arms. He defended very well vs. the taller receivers such as Colin Johnson who is 6'6". It's also interesting that he demands the highest level of performance for himself and takes each pass completion personally. Because he was always going against the oppositions best receiver it was not like he was on one side of the field and the other teams were avoiding him.

"His completion percentage allowed over the past two years of just 41.5% is third-best in the FBS, and when you eliminate underneath throws, his completion percentage allowed on passes of 10 or more yards downfield was just 24.4% — second-best in the FBS."

It's also worth pointing out, as this article does that while Gladney did not perform the best on the cone drills, he was operating on an ailing knee. The year before he ran a 4.34 forty for example, so it seems he is faster than his combine times. The fact that he went ahead and competed at the combine speaks of his mental toughness, I beliieve. NFL players do have to play sometimes when they are tired or not feeling 100%. Bud Grant used to talk about durability. Gladney was a starter for 3 1/2 years at TCU which has to make him one of the most NFL ready corners that were available in the draft. That has to be helpful with the limited off-season.

This is my prediction for the "steal of the draft", though.

Cameron Dantzler's passer rating when targeted his last 2 years of college was 43.6

For comparison, if you did nothing but spike the ball into the ground on every single play your passer rating would be 39.6

This article at Bleacherreport predicts that Sharpe is the biggest sleeper on the Vikings team. (Writer is Brad Gagnon)

Unlike the Tennessee Titans, we're not ready to give up on Tajae Sharpe.

The four-year veteran is expected to at least grab the No. 3 receiver job as a new member of the Minnesota Vikings with rookie first-round pick Justin Jefferson expected by most to essentially replace the departed Stefon Diggs. But you never know what to expect from a rookie wide receiver, and Sharpe has the ability to deliver as a starter without being the focal point of the balanced offense.

He's never caught 50 passes or scored five touchdowns in a season, but Sharpe is still only 25 and is coming off a quietly strong season. His cumulative numbers weren't big because the Titans have a slew of options on offense, but the UMass product averaged a stellar 9.4 yards per target. He caught more than 71 percent of the passes thrown his way and dropped zero of those 35 throws from Ryan Tannehill and Marcus Mariota.

It wouldn't be surprising if Sharpe took off in a new setting.

Sharpe will start, and as the season progresses he and Jefferson will platoon. Could be Jefferson in the slot too, but doing both effectively is a lot for a rook.

Last year Thielen got hurt and Diggs stats were inflated as a result. This year Cousins will have more pass catchers. The offense will be more unpredictable and hard to stop. I'm predicting that Thielen's numbers will also drop this year too, though. Irv Smith Jr. will be more in the mix and the team still will be trying to utilize the brilliance of Cook and Mattison.

He's got size (6'4 1/2") and ran a 4.38 forty at the combine, which of course has been awhile ago. So he must be a deeper threat. Pryor says he's healthy, now. He was involved in a stabbing incident and maybe had other injuries in the past. We don't have anybody like that, unless you count Dan Chisena who was a track guy with blazing speed, but not much pass catching experience at Penn State. He played mostly as a gunner on special teams. He's 6'3".

The chances are slim that the Vikings sign Pryor. I brought it up because the Vikings were one of the teams mentioned as showing interest. That may have been more the agent trying to create the excitement that he is a hot free agent.

I just can't get over the #1 rated pass blocking lineman in all the land and #6 overall by PFF. I'm not a huge PFF guy, but getting their #1 in the 6th round seems like a steal to me.

He's going from tackle to guard. I wonder how he will do inside. Our offense requires good feet and hopefully good blocking on the second level more than power. Still the good size may offer something vs. the kind of d-tackles that have given us fits as of late. Regardless, he is not likely to start this year, but you never know.

This is probably the only knock on Hunter. not many strip sacks.

However, a DE working the qb blindside has more of an advantage in this catagory.

Lots of video clips and commentary about Cleveland in this article. He's supposed to "get stronger", but his combine bench press score was good. Of course his biggest asset is his athleticism. It's interesting to note that he ranked 27th overall on the "Grinding the Mocks consensus". Gladney was probably ranked higher, but if feels like we got three first round draft picks. I recall going into the draft that we had three needs: WR, offensive line (guard was also a possibility) and cornerback. I was doing some wringing as to how we could get top prospects at each position. I was certainly open to trading up in the second round to getting a player like Cleveland. I have no doubt that he was a player that some teams were considering in the back end of the first round and early second round, but somehow he fell to us later in the second round. Lucky us! Of course even first round picks don't always pan out, so there's no assurance that he will succeed as a franchise OT. Still, he is a tremendous fit for our scheme and so he will have every opportunity to do well here in Minnesota.
